Skillday is operated by Barlas Creative Private Limited, Hyderabad, Telangana, India ("Skillday," "we," "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it. It is written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the IT Act, 2000.
We collect the minimum we need: your contact details to reach you, your payment details to bill you (handled by our payment processor, not stored by us), and your child's first name, age band, and learning progress to make the product work. We don't sell personal data. We don't show ads inside Skillday. We never use your child's data for advertising or profiling. You can ask us to show, correct, or delete your data anytime at hello@skillday.app.
Skillday accounts can only be created by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without verifiable parental consent.
Only what you provide and what the product needs:
We do notcollect your child's phone number, email, precise location, photos, or contacts.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use children's data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or tracking of any kind, as required by the DPDP Act.
On our marketing website (skillday.app), we use:
These tools use cookies or similar identifiers and may share data (such as pages visited and device information) with their providers. You can opt out via your browser settings, our cookie consent manager, Google's opt-out tools, and Meta's ad preferences.
Inside the learning experience your child uses, we do not run advertising or ad-tracking tools of any kind.
We may add or replace similar service providers over time; this policy covers tools of the same category, and we will update the named list periodically.
Only service providers who help us run Skillday, under contracts that limit their use of your data:
We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Skillday, our users, or others. If Skillday is ever acquired or merged, your data would transfer with the business, and we would notify you.
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure, which may include servers outside India, in accordance with applicable law. We keep personal data only as long as needed: waitlist data until launch outreach concludes or you ask us to remove it; account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after, or as law requires (e.g., payment records for tax purposes). When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your child's learning data within 30 days, except where law requires retention.
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and the principle of least access - only people who need your data to serve you can see it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.
To exercise any of these, email hello@skillday.app. We respond within 7 days and resolve grievances within the timelines prescribed by law.
Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian; that consent is our basis for processing the child's data.
We collect the minimum needed for learning to work.
No advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking of children, ever.
You can view and delete your child's data from your account or by emailing us.
We'll post changes here and update the date above. For material changes - especially anything affecting children's data - we'll notify you by WhatsApp or email before the change takes effect.
